When I enable Vsync my FPS is limited to 60, I can't see any difference in actual gameplay but my GPU is now running close to 55-60 degrees using less power and making less noise. For example, in some games (not SE) if I have this option un-ticked my GPU can go as high as 150fps but my GPU is running at close to 80 degrees. This will limit the in-game FPS to that of your monitor refresh rate. If you get good FPS but your GPU is running hot check the "Vsync" option. (Except Field of View.) If you play on planets then reducing Flora will give a big bonus and disabling it on starting a new game more so.Ģ. Reducing almost any graphic setting will improve your FPS. Disabling "Thruster Damage" when starting a new game will improve FPS as the game no longer needs to calculate damage and deformation effects.ġ. Disabling asteroid storms under the "Environment" setting will improve FPS due to avoiding terrain/block deformation.ĩ. Lots of objects will slow down the game such as loose bits of ore, damaged parts of ships and random "loose" blocks.Ĩ.
If you aren't playing in a planet enabled map, disabling cargo ships will improve CPU/RAM as cargo ships spawn 10km out and the game generates all the surrounding space as they travel near you.ħ. (Putting all your economy into a stationary base will reduce the size of your ships and thus the CPU hit of flying about.)Ħ. Fixed place stations require much less CPU power than mobile ships.
